Go Fish Musical

We had a fantastic play that we performed called Go Fish! It was about a shark who wanted some friends that weren't sharks, but rather, other sea creatures from the ocean. We had fish, seahorses, jellyfish, seaweed, octopus and more! Here are a few shots of our performers-

Happy Valentine's Day!

Friendship, fun, and CANDY!!!! were in the air on Friday, February 12th, 2010, when we distributed our valentines at the end of the day. We had enjoyed a special Valentine's Day dessert at lunch earlier in the day, and couldn't wait until 2:00 when it was time to pass out those cards and candy. Everyone was so excited, and so generous. Some kids ended up with colored teeth :)

Flower Pen Factory

Our Busy Bees and Super Flower Power Shop pen factories filled all orders and closed up shop on Friday, February 5. Each student had a job as a pen cap popper, green tape cutter, scotch taper, green tape wrapper, quality control employee, or checking and packing orders. It was such a fun, hands-on way to learn about Economics. We raised $50 each class to help care for an animal at the Houston Zoo, and other profits were used to donate to the American Cancer Society. We thank all our customers (consumers) for contributing to our factory and charitable contributions!

Searching for Treasures

Paleontologists learn about the past by digging up and studying fossils. We pretended we were paleontologists and worked with picks (toothpicks) to get the chips out of chocolate chip cookies without breaking the chips. Then we ate the fossils and rocks (cookies and chips).

Future Paleontologists

We have learned about fossils, what they are, and how they are formed. We experimented with making imprints with objects in Play Dough, and trying to guess what made the imprint. In some of the photos, some students' backs may be turned, or eyes covered, while another student makes the imprint. Guessing what made the imprint is harder than it seemed at first. Science is fun!
