This week in P. E. we ran the Turkey Trot! Quite a few students from our classes placed in the top categories, or chose to run the laps. It was quite a feat!
Thank you for taking time to visit our blog. We thought this would be an great way to share with parents, grandparents, family and friends how much fun we are having as we learn here at Kaufman Elementary! Feel free to leave a comment and visit again soon.

New Class T-Shirts
We all got new T-shirts today! Each second grade class has a different color, with the same design. We are the navy blue and red classes. We can wear these shirts to school any day, and we will all wear them for special events such as our field trip, cup stacking tournament, or carnival day at the end of the school year. We posed in front of some of our playground equipment and beside the school.

Following the Rules
We have worked so hard to follow classroom and school rules all day long! Here are some photos of our nice line, as we get ready to exit the classroom. Notice how we are facing front, using Cougar grips, staying quiet, and following our line leader. There are also photos of how well we sit on the floor and listen to a book or lesson in the classroom. Our teachers are so proud of us. We are definitely picture perfect!

There's a Whole Lot of Building Going On!
In Science class, we are proving that materials, when combined, can do things together that they cannot do by themselves. We were given the task of building a structure such as a bridge, house, basket, stairs, or table. We used Lego blocks, and we had to work with a teammate, and meet a "construction deadline." This wasn't as easy as it sounds! Here are some photos of the building process and some of the finished structures. Can you guess which structure our team completed?
